Services Provided
Practical Life Visitations provides virtual supervised visitation for California court-referred cases and private, voluntary arrangements governed by California law, conducted entirely by secure video, in accordance with Standard of Judicial Administration 5.20.
Out-of-State and Out-of-Jurisdiction Clients
Practical Life Visitations is credentialed under California's Standard of Judicial Administration 5.20. Clients seeking to use our services outside California — whether for a court-mandated case in another jurisdiction or a private voluntary arrangement — are solely responsible for confirming that a California-credentialed remote provider satisfies their jurisdiction's specific requirements before beginning services. Practical Life Visitations makes no representation that our credentials satisfy the requirements of any jurisdiction outside California.
Fees & Payment
- A $75 intake fee (per parent) is due before a case is reviewed. If declined, 50% is refunded; if accepted, 50% is credited toward the first visit.
- Visitation is billed at $75/hour, one-hour minimum per visit. Payment is due prior to each visit. Checks are not accepted.
- Where a county or agency covers the intake fee, payment is coordinated directly with that agency.
Scheduling, Cancellations & No-Shows
- Cancellations or rescheduling require at least 24 hours' notice; visits canceled with less notice are billable in full.
- If the visiting parent does not join within 10 minutes of the scheduled start, the visit ends and is billable.
- Three late cancellations or missed visits (in any combination, excluding documented illness) result in a one-month suspension of services.
Conduct During Visits
No use of alcohol or drugs, profanity, threats, negative talk about the other parent, discussion of dating partners, or unapproved individuals on camera. Both parent and child must remain visible for the full visit. Visits may end at the monitor's discretion if any of the above occurs or if the child's safety is at risk.
Court Order Compliance
The court order always takes precedence over any other guideline. Disputes about what's permitted may require attorney involvement; if a self-represented party disputes terms, visits are paused until resolved.
Emergencies & Child Refusal
Parents must notify the monitor immediately of an emergency or child refusal. Documented emergencies within the cancellation window are not billed; undocumented late cancellations follow the standard cancellation policy.
Subpoenas
If Practical Life Visitations is subpoenaed to testify or produce records, this is billed separately.
Ending Services
Terminating services requires 24 hours' notice before any scheduled visit, or that visit remains billable.
Confidentiality
Handled under the terms of our Confidentiality Policy, including our obligations as a mandated reporter.
Amendments & Governing Law
These terms may be updated at any time; continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the current terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
